Challenge
FPE Seals are a long standing client of ours and we have produced a wide variety of promotional items for them. One of their key marketing items is the continual production and updating of various product catalogues, such as their ‘Cylinder Parts Product Range’. A key need for these technical product catalogues is for them to be very user friendly in displaying key specs for each product, which invariably involves product photos, technical drawings and spec charts. Another key need is for the catalogues to be as concise as possible (without reducing useability) to reduce page count and print cost. It goes without saying that this sort of job requires a team to work on it that understands perfectly this sort of job requirement, the multiple skill-sets involved and where attention to detail is critical.
SOLUTION
The team at Reactive are highly skilled and experienced in all mediums whether print or online and we are perfectly suited to work on these sort of demanding print jobs. On this particular project – after getting a thorough understanding of the content type & spec requirements, we came up with a layout solution which would perfectly cater for each product and their slight variation in spec length, whilst taking up the minimum pages. Once a robust layout solution was in place which functioned well from a useability point of view and looked on brand and visually appealing, we set-about creating the content for each product – which also required photshop retouching skills for product imagery and technical drawing skills. Attention to detail was also key in this project so that minimal changes where required after the first draft. Finally – after the design solution was inplace and approved by a very happy cient, we set-about using our extensive print contacts to produce this 184 page catalogue in the most cost-effective way possible.
