Challenge
Utility Alliance had a need to promote their high number of services in a range of brochures of varying page counts. Whilst the content of these brochures was detailed and quite extensive – the brochures needed to be concise, very easy to read through and understand, whilst all loooking like part the are part of the same family of marketing literature. Also as each brochure would be printed in their thousands (and on an ongong basis) any means of making cost-savings was requested by the client.
SOLUTION
After a thorough briefing stage to understand the needs of the client and the target audience, we set about creating a visual approach which would form a strong and recogniseable visual identity. A key part of the design angle was to reduce text copy as much as possible and introduce ‘info-graphic’ style graphic elements to help reinforce the key messaging, whilst also making content more digestible and easier to understand. Format wise we opted for a square page size (210mm x 210mm) which is a little different to your standard A4 size etc – but is also a cost-effective printing size. As there were multiple brochures – these ranged from simple 4 page folded brochures, to 6 page tri-folds all the way up to various saddle-stitched bigger brochures, with the square format suiting any page count.
